Ever wondered exactly what ChatGPT types into the search engine when you ask for real-time information?

While you can uncover this data manually by opening Chrome's Inspect Element, filtering Network streams, and digging through JSON responses, it is a highly technical and tedious process to repeat for every prompt.

To solve this, I built a custom Chrome Extension that automates the entire workflow. Instead of searching through code, this extension silently captures ChatGPT’s background search queries and displays them right on your screen in a clean, persistent box directly beneath the AI's response.

How to Install

Follow these quick steps to add the extension to your browser:

1. Download and extract the ZIP file.
2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions in your address bar.
3. Turn on Developer mode (find the toggle in the top-right corner).
4. Click Load unpacked and select the folder you just extracted.
5. Done! Go to chatgpt.com and ask any news or current events question to see the search queries appear.
